Read Across South St. Paul is back for its 18th season. The 2019-2020 Read Across South St. Paul will kick off on Friday, October 4th at Lincoln Center and Kaposia Education.
The first Friday of each month has been designated Read Across South St. Paul in the Elementary Schools. This is a partnership between the City and School District making it truly a community program. Volunteers have the opportunity to read to students at Lincoln Center and/or Kaposia Education Center in a classroom setting. Read Across South St. Paul times are 9:00 at Lincoln Center and 9:30 am at Kaposia Education Center.
Books will be provided each month relating to the theme. Read Across South St. Paul takes about 30 minutes each month and a great way to give back to the community.

The council meetings are open to the public and you have the opportunity to address the City Council during the Citizens Comments portion of the agenda. On the first Monday of the month the EDA will meet following the Council Meeting.

Join in a South St. Paul Community Conversation involving ways to include and foster acceptance for residents with mental health challenges and disabilities. This event is hosted by Dakota County Social Services in partnership with the community of South St. Paul. Light refreshments will be served.

The Planning Commission is a seven-member citizen commission, appointed by the City Council to four-year terms. The Planning Commission advises the City Council on all planning, zoning, and land uses within the community. Duties of the Planning Commission include the review of all development and redevelopment proposals and the enforcement of the Comprehensive Plan.

The Economic Development Advisory Board acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council and Economic Development Authority (EDA) on matters pertaining to economic development, assisting with long-term strategies for economic development as intended by the City's Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code, assist in attracting and retaining businesses in South St. Paul, assist businesses with expansion and enable the rehabilitation and/or redevelopment of areas within the community.
